The trouble is that it is not a standard in that place called not-in-North-America. There are quite a few hotels in that place, and the policies are difficult to understand.

Some ICs offer free access (temporarily?), as do many HIEs, but is is not a standard internationally. It would be so useful if this was an IHG-wide policy.
