OK... If the cabin is full and everyone wants to eat at the same time and all the meals cook at the same rate then I will start at the front and work back...

This almost NEVER happens.

Everyone in First is free to eat when they want and what they want. If someone wants to eat quickly then I will make that my priority and attempt to serve this customer first. I have had a customer complain that he wanted to eat quickly and was annoyed when other people were then eating before him. He was not having it when I pointed out that his choice of main meal took 40 minutes to cook and the others had soup/salads etc. So food choice also has a bearing on how quickly you can eat, although pasta should not have been an issue in this case.

I/we always try and start serving you 10 minutes or so before your main meal is cooked, that way you are not left sitting waiting for 20/30 minutes between courses. If you order a cold starter, salad and then your main course, you may find you get "laid up" quicker as by the time you have had your first two courses your main will also be ready.

Sorry to say but there really is no such thing as row 1 getting served before row 2 etc, unless the scenario at the top of this post occurs. First is all about choice, not routine. All other cabins are quite regimented in the service flow, First is dictated by YOU, the customer.

Hope this explains a little about how it should work. To the original poster, sorry you weren't served quickly if that was your wish, can't see any reason why they couldn't get pasta out to you quickly.

Just don't order Osso Bucco as your main meal, when you want to be served quickly, and then moan and whinge about the speed of the service!!!
