According to the United Website: When you earn 25,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM) or 30 Elite Qualifying Segments (EQS) on United in a calendar year, (I have neither...) you attain Premier® status in the United Mileage Plus® program. Paid, qualifying flight miles earned on most published fares on Star Alliance® member flights also count toward Premier status.

As of now however, I have:
Current redeemable miles balance approx: 56,000
Year to date Elite Qualifying Miles (EQM) approx: 6,000
Year to date Elite Qualifying Segments (EQS) : 2
Lifetime United flight miles: 11,000

1. HOW did I get premier status? Did United make a mistake?
2. I thought miles never expire as long as you use/redeem miles within 2,3 years. so the lifetime united flight miles, make sense but a) why is it significantly lower than my currently redeemable miles balance and b) Why does it say "redeemable miles expiration date" on my Account Summary?
