I don't care whether I get served first or not in CE (or anywhere else for that matter, really), as long as I get fed. I even got forgotten somehow once or twice, but really, it was an error and the crew were very apologetic - I found it quite funny rather than offensive.
I avoid taking things too seriously. I won't survive my life if I took things (or myself) too seriously.
I enjoy fine service and fine food, and I do experience plenty of it, but if things slip up, so be it - it's nothing personal and it can even be quite amusing.
I also think we can risk reading too much into things at times and interpret the situation quite differently from what it really is. Most of the time, it's a dumb mistake, rather than anything intentional or subconscious, I think, and easily corrected if you do not take it personally.
I do sometimes wish I were served early, but that's not about competing for priority - it's simply about maximising my sleep. But then, 30 min is neither here nor there. I easily waste (?) 30 min of sleep by messing about on FT!
If there are service deficiencies, if you approach the crew with a good sense of humour and treat them nicely and with respect, they'll usually fix the problem and treat you nicely too. The answers are often just as simple as that.
