CO52 (IAH-EWR) 8AM departure had a wait list of 100+ Standby’s this morning. When we arrived at the gate I asked the GA if he was looking for VDB’s and he said no.
Just before boarding he made an announcement asking for VDB’s for a $250 Voucher and a seat on a flight leaving 9 Hours later.
I guess it’s not surprising that he got no takers.
The only thing I can think of is that he went through the motions to satisfy some paper requirement.
We did get a good laugh though.
Well, if you're not in a hurry at all, or you would have some long waiting time at the destination anyway due to the next leg being next day, then it could definitely be an option, won't it?
I mean, you get the day to spend in Houston (Could think of worse cities, I guess?) and the airline is giving you 250$ for it - not that bad, is it?
I don't think it's an offer no-one ever will accept, but maybe some people on a MR?
