Well they need to clarify this immediately or at least postpone it until everyone is aware to make these necessary changes to their IDs and BPs if need be. This is the first time I heard it and it was never on any news or what not.

I just talked with the EXP desk at AA regarding this since I have a RTW ticket with only my first and last name, the agent said "middle names" are never an issue because the more important ones are DOB and other distinguishable features rather than getting hyped up over a middle name/initial. I agree...but, we need clarification.

On one hand we have the OP's security agent who says they have to be exactly the same. OTOH, TSA's website and AA EXP desk says only the first and last name matter. Which is correct?

For me:

State ID and passport shows full middle name
Debit/ATM card shows full middle name (US based bank card)
Credit card 1 shows only middle initial (US based credit card, but problem lies on their computer as they can only handle middle initials)
Credit card 2 only my first and last name (overseas credit card, no middle name used in that country)
Frequent flyer number and linked-boarding pass shows only my first and last name
