I just got off phone with Avis and I can't beleive a company can be so stupid!!

I will try not to rant and just give facts.

Yesterday, I rented a car in China on avis.com...I printed reservation confirmation from website and it clearly states in BOLD TYPE and all CAPS, "CHAUFFEUR DRIVE ONLY. RATE INCLUDES DRIVER".

YESTERDAY I called to make sure that was correct...was assured after the agent checked with somebody else that YES my rate included driver.

TODAY, I called back to change vehicle size...I thought I would once again ask to make sure rate included driver...was told NO. I once again pulled up reservation on Avis.com...and low and behold it says rate INCLUDES driver!!

After talking to a couple of customer service people was basically told the website was wrong...I could submit a request for a "driver quote", but that they wouldn't honor the rate!!!

When can you ever trust a confirmation...they can just say...sorry, that was wrong...we made up a new rate or rule and now you must take it or leave it.


I am just glad I kept asking...I know if I would have gotten to airport thinking everything was OK I would have been stressed!
