Swearing and rudeness to customer service agents is certainly NOT a way to get them to provide you with stellar service.
Gee... I'm sure Starwood was just thrilled to have you as a future customer. I'm sure all these customer service representatives were anxiously awaiting future irate e-mails from you, excited desk clerks who couldn't wait to be cursed at and belittled when they can't solve an issue fast enough for you, etc. Need I go on?
In my line of work (service oriented also), I would refer to this as "business you couldn't pay me enough to take". The marginal revenue just isn't worth the headaches and abuse heaped on my staff.
