If you really don't care about MQM miles than I think you should consider the Starwood AMX card. I think the annual fee is considerably less than the Delta cards, and you can transfer your Starwood points to Delta or a host of other airlines. Furthermore, when you transfer 20,000 points you get 25,000 miles on most airlines. I actually have the Starwood Card, the Delta Platinum Card, and the real Platinum card, so it's not that I'm biased toward "my card." The primary reason I have the Delta card is because I DO care about MQM miles to maintain status.

The Starwood card has no annual fee the first year and then $45 each year. You receive 10,000 Starwood points with the first purchase.
