Sadly, my grandmother just passed away. My wife and I are taking a few days to attend the funeral and console the rest of the family.

On the positive side, the UA reservations agent was extremely helpful. They were able to move the last two flights back by 10 days and waive all of the change fees! Moreover, the agent didn't say anything about the juxtaposition of the two itineraries, so I feel like I've dodged a bullet on the back-to-back ticketing issue. The last flights have a day between them, so I'm going to spend a bit of time wandering around Bangkok (it's been a few years since I've spent any real time there). That'll be nice.

The other bummer is that I'll miss out on double EQMs for the last two flights, which leaves me short by 6078 miles...
