segments 9, 10, and 11
BKK-NRT was smooth and uneventful, and as a bonus arrived a good 45 minutes early. Having slept through the meal service, I used the time for sushi (yay) before boarding NRT-LAX.
The aft purser on the NRT-LAX flight was so happy with the chololates I dropped off that I was offered one of the special vegetarian meals that were on board. (The flight was host to approximately 30 refugees leaving Myanmar for the United States.) It was delicious! The plat principal was a small samosa-like pastry filled with spinach and cheese, aloo-gobi, and a fried potato/root-vegetable patty. All were doused with a healthy amount of curry and were quite spicy-hot (unexpected, but extremely welcome -- I've got a "chili tooth" if there is such a thing).
Passing through LAX, I spun the UA giveway wheel and got upgraded to an E+ seat for the last leg home. SFO had been at minimums earlier, so there was an extra 10m hold before we got home, but no big deal.
