SQ's H1N1 Advisory and RTW Changes

Hi all,

I want to hear your opinion on this issue:

I booked an F RTW flight which has 3 months validity. Back a few days ago, I saw a window for me to somehow 'extend' the validity via the H1N1 Advisory that stated:

As a gesture of goodwill, Singapore Airlines will waive all cancellation and change fees for customers who choose not to travel as a result of the H1N1 situation.

The waivers apply to customers with tickets on Singapore Airlines flights as follows:

- Valid for tickets issued (irrespective of fare types) prior to 22 May 2009 for travel up to and including 30 June 2009, on a Singapore Airlines flight;
- Customers may change the routing of their journey, defer the date of travel until 31 October 2009, or cancel, without penalty;
- Any change of date or routing will be charged at the new fare for that journey less the fare for the journey paid, with no amendment fee (e.g., if travel is in a higher class, or deferred to a higher season, the seasonal fare difference will still apply);
- The same conditions apply for KrisFlyer redemption tickets.
Now all I wanted is just to move the departure date forward by two days, and keeping the return date the same. Problem is, I can't since my booking dates are already at their maximum stretch (from 21 june to 21 september)..

Yet, if I look at this rule closely:

Customers may change the routing of their journey, defer the date of travel until 31 October 2009, or cancel, without penalty;
This means, IMO that I can move my departure forward by two days, and still have the return date deferred up to October 31st 2009

The agent I've been talking to still held herself stating that the date of departure is the start of the 3 month validity.

But here's the catch:

Valid for tickets issued (irrespective of fare types) prior to 22 May 2009 for travel up to and including 30 June 2009, on a Singapore Airlines flight
My tix is issued before the 22nd, and it says irrespective of fare types which means I my interpretation of the rules are correct.

So.. what do you think?
