Responsibility of Leadership:

This is not about $87K. I agree, that is a drop in the bucket. We have execs who have in total probably spent more on that in company time posting to this forum!!! But, think of this:

Here in the Bay Area, the San Jose city council just voted to drop their own pay by 3.75%. The total savings will be 0.03% of the budget for the city. No impact. Zero. Nada. So why do it? Because city council realizes the responsibility of leadership. Leaders must lead by example. It is not enough to stay within the law. It is not enough to do what others do. It is not enough to say "I am worth it, so I should get it". True leaders think about the impact of all their visible decisions. They realize that being a leader is not all about perks and benefits, it is just as much about responsibility. Somehow, we have lost the concept of Responsibility, particularly among some our corporate leadership.

(By the way, I don't mean to praise the SJ City Council, as they only did this under duress, but there are leaders who 'get it')

UA is run my managers. They are not leaders, they are managers. That is at the heart of what is wrong with UA.
