The only lively place seems to be the Panorama Lounge, looks like only Golds and Diamonds are travelling. I have never seen it so bad at this resort before.
This information is indeed accurate while I was there.

I do not know, since anytime I ate on-site was in the Panorama Lounge, which offered plenty of food both at breakfast and at dinner.

I do not know about sushi, but for good Thai seafood, the staff at this property recommended
Kan Eang Seafood Restaurant.
I concur with this recommendation. The food was great and flavorful, the service very good to excellent, the prices were reasonable and, with a table right by the water, the ambiance rounded out the experience.
I had a car, and the drive was approximately 20 minutes to the east side of the island right next to the pier at Chalong Bay.
