Wow! Big news - I had not heard about the call-off of privatization. This is bound to be a politically-charged issue in Ireland. The last thing they will want to see is EI become a mere feeder for BA at Heathrow. At the same time, I can see the value to BA in gaining control of EI (aren't they the third-largest at LHR, in terms of number of slots held?)

It would be especially disappointing to see any of the transatlantic routes dropped in favour of transiting through LHR. Shannon was bad enough!!
