Since your friend will be picking up the car at GVA, albeit on the French side, he/she might get lucky and receive a car with the Swiss vignette already attached to the windshield. Or, if given a choice of vehicles, look for one with the vignette. Volia, 40 CHF saved! I've had this happen a couple of times.
