This probably isn't useful, but just in case...
It could depend on what award you are using the miles for. For a free US ticket, which costs 25,000 miles, you can get that with 130,000 Hhonors points to United, or 110,000 points to American. But you can also get the ticket from Hhonors itself for 75,000 points.
