I would book on DL or NW's site just to be safe, but it seems a case can be made that just using the DL AmEx card and signing up in the link above will get you the bonus miles, wherever you end up booking.
If it doesn't say you have to book on delta.com you don't, right? I mean that's certainly how any reasonable person would read it.

Of course, when you have to fight for your bonus (and my guess is you will), you don't want them to have another excuse to deny you.
