I am a frequent guest at Hilton properties in Canada.
What I can't understand is the exchange rate that Hilton HHonors uses to convert my charges (in Canadian dollars) to U.S. $.
Exchange rate are changed on a daily base, it follows the rate from the currency markets.
On a recent stay, I spent $122.00 CDN, which only converted to $60.00 U.S. This is only a 50% exchange rate!! Never before in history has the Cdn dollar been this low!!
On a previous stay, I spent $193.00 CDN, and was only given credit based on spending $86.00 U.S. (45%)
In my opinion, I don't think you should complain too much.. When is the last time you stayed at a Hilton in the States for 60$ on a business trip? I'm telling you YOU DO HAVE GOOD DEAL!
I feel I am being ripped off -- at least being screwed on the exchange rates. At the very least, the conversion rate should be based on AT LEAST 60%. </font>
YOU FEEL BEING RIPPED OFF!!! What about us canadians going down to the States with an exchange rate of about 1.6 (100$US = 160$CAN) Do you really think we are having a good deal?
I'd rather be in your position as far as exchange rate goes!
Good luck Globe!
Cheers from Canada!
