Same thing has happened at OMA - there was never a line for the Delta counter as they only flew RJs with no first class so numbers were light anyway. Now they have added Northwest (which used to have a FirstClass/SkyTeam Lane) into the mix with many more guests and mainline aircraft with first class cabins. The last two times i've had to check-in, lines have been super long. Monday afternoon there was only 1 agent working the counter and the line was around 50 people deep. Nothing (signage or personnel) prompting guests to use the machines if they needed to check-in (instead they waited until the guests made it up to the counter to make them use the kiosk - classic). It's a real mess and has been for the last month since combining. Hopefully they can 'figure it out' sometime soon - there were too many upset people in that line and too much organization from every other airline's checkin counter!!!
