Well, the two most exciting new routes I’ve heard about are to San Jose and to Australia, using the A330s. The LAX flights are very successful, and EI wants to expand up to Silicon Valley. SJC is looking for international traffic, and is much cheaper for EI than SFO. It’s the same logic that had them expand to BWI last year instead of IAD. (There was also strong political support in Maryland for the BWI expansion.) The Australia flights would be an extension of the LAX flights. I’ve no word on when these start, but I would not be surprised to hear something very soon, maybe by the summer? I know the pilots are bidding on the schedule. They will need to get more A330's or take another leased MD-11 like the one they are using to EWR.

I’ve no news on the privatization other than what I read in the Irish Times, but it looks bleak. The unions will mess it up, in my opinion.
