One time I was in a severe WX delay and called and got protected on a later flight, as the estimated departure for leg one was now the same time my leg two departure.

After flight 1, when I got to the gate for the protection flight, I asked the GA for my BP, and was told that if I don't have a BP, I am not getting on. I told her that I called and they said I was protected on it. She repeated that no one is getting on the flight who doesn't already have a boarding pass, thats its way oversold, and that I will be re-accommodated tomorrow. It took some convincing and arguing to finally get her to look me up. When she did, sure enough, I did have a seat assigned, she gave me my BP, and went on my merry way.

A few minutes later, they ended up calling for 1 volunteer. Not as oversold as she made it sound.

I don't get why some GAs are so courteous, and some you have to beg to get them to lift a finger.

In the OPs case, I think he/she should get IDB Compensation, as he/she was IDBd, IMO. Or, possibly, had a seat and the GA didn't bother to look him/her up.
