My parents just tried to get into the SFO Pclub and were denied access. Both are Plat and both are flying to LIM. Even after my dad showed them the policy on Co.com the 2 CSRs said only BF passengers could and also that Co was not a Skyteam carrier.
In IAH or SAT I doubt you will have a problem, but I am going to print out what it says online and have my parents carry it around.
I encountered a bit of resistance (actually ignorance) in IAH when trying to use an int'l Y BP and a Plat card a few months ago.
As for your parents, they should've just gone to the DL club down the hall. If CO can't train their employees, they can certainly pay your way into a partner lounge.
But if it's too late, you may want to contact Customer Care and request some free PC passes for future use due to the improper denial of entry.
