I have had my eye on SFO-LIH fares for awhile. I realize that UA has a monopoly on this market now I believe, at least for non stop, so the fares are pretty high several months out (just shy of $1000 for the non stops). F rings in at $1130. That would be a steal if you were willing to already pay the $1000 for Y.
The thing that makes me go grrrrrr is that if I look to book a flight to HNL and then connect on a different carrier to get to LIH the cheapest flight that UA comes up with is the flight to LIH then a connection on an HA codeshare to HNL. This was only about $400 the last time I checked. Think UA has anyway of knowing I didn't show up for the LIH-HNL flight?
