Unhappy Neglectful COEX FA experience this evening...

Interesting scenario that transpired this evening on a COEX flight MSP-IAH. I was coming back from a two-week walkabout in Glacier Nat'l Park, and was very much looking forward to my three hour ERJ flight back to IAH.. ..followed immediately be another to SAT.

It was a bit chilly in MSP today, so I could understand how the FA had the heat on while in flight. I was warm, but others were okay....so no biggie. I have enough episodes of Rescue Me on the ol' computer to keep me entertained for a couple of RTW flights.

The FA performs the beverage service, then the snack service (which was surprisingly tasty with cheese spread, crackers, beef jerkey :-: and those respberry delight thingys with white chocolate ^ ). However, after finishing those two services...she disappeared. Everyone had their trays, glasses, and associated cabin service items in hand and nothing was done to pick them up. I could see that the FA was standing in the galley....so I figured that she was just at the end of a long day and a bit tired. However, after a while I heard the distinctive 10,000 feet double-ping descent warning....nothing.

No announcement, no trash bag, no notice to return my seat to its full and upright position, no please turn off all portable electronic devices....nothing.

I become concerned at the lack of anything from my FA...until I see her turn off the galley light and sit down and pull the blanket around her and close her eyes. She didn't move....and no one prepared themselves for landing, until she heard the landing gear come down and the pilot ask her to be seated for arrival. She looked surprised....picked up the PA, but thought again and hung it up. I observed a family next to me in total shock as the plane landed and their children were sleeping on the tray tables, people look all around like "what the heck," as I kept staring right at her. Once we came to a stop, she said the announcements like normal and we rolled to the gate.

You know that I had to say something, so as I deplaned, I told her in a stern voice "Hey, I didn't hear those landing announcements." To which she replied to me "Have a nice day." Ugh....if she wasn't so smug with her comments, I would have blown it off. However, this was not only unsafe, against almost all CO regulations, but quasi-endangered the lives of all passangers on the plane and the aircraft in general. I don't want to get anyone in trouble...but should I report this? If she woulda acted at least a bit remorseful, I wouldn't have given it a second thought.
