By public transportation, you could get to Grand Central, either taking the airport bus or the airtrain subway train combinations. Exactly how depends on which airport. From Grand Central you would buy a ticket and take the Metro North Commuter train to Stamford.
They run quite often during rush hour, once or twice an hour not at rush hour, last train at 1 am or so.
Another option is the shared buses from the airport to Stamford,
http://ridethedot.com or
http://ctlimo.com is like $60 or so I believe (each way), though call to see what airports and what the service is.
One of the limo bus deals would be much easier, you load your stuff at the airport and they take you to your hotel in Stamford. It costs more, but it's worth it.
Well so far this commute from SFO SUCKS via ORD to HPN and vice a versa. . My return flights are typically 1-2 hours late so for the remainder of my trips its going to be JFK non stop. I figured it will cut 3-4 hours off of the travel day give or take.
Any suggestions on this Limo Bus thing? I have been calling Limo / Town Car services and the cheapest I found is 135, but the average is 169-190.
How much would a plain taxi cost to Stamford assuming no significant traffic?
I called the Red Dot and CT Limo shared vans, and they typically stop 3-6 times with a two hour quote. I just really need to get to hotel as fast as possible after such a long trip.
Thanks a million.
