Hana Hostel in Hiroshima is nice. It's a private room (single or double) and costs only 3700 yen. Since you will go to Hiroshima, you might want to go to Miyajima as well - 25 minutes from JR Hiroshima on the local JR train. The JR ferry from the mainland to the island is covered by the JR pass.
