Of course there are more neutral ways to say things and the FA could've chosen another. For example when I'm not if the baby/toddler/child has is M or F I simply say "what a cutie" not "what a cute little boy" because I envariably guess wrong. The FA could've instead said "and for you miss...?" but I'm with MG's advice and suggest you simply get used to it given the massive age difference.
