Discretion in On Board Service

I was returning from LAS tonight on AC 576 in J. I was traveling with my gf and the FA said, when asking if we needed anything else, "would your daughter like...?" ... isn't that being a bit presumptious based on either me looking like an OF that should be in a home, or her looking like a teen? We are neither...I am under 50, and she is 22. Wouldn't it have been better for the FA to have simply said, "Can I get you anything else, ma'am?" (or comparable)??? Thoughts from the sages of the board, please.
