I take your point, and it's not the right thread for this discussion but it seems that there are an increasing number of people coming on here with the view of wanting something for free that is available at a minimal cost elsewhere. It doesn't really fit into one side of the community ethos.
Oh, and Expertflyer is a website. No downloading needed. It even works on an iPhone.
Perhaps it's time to start a specific 'can you do me a favour' thread and then those who want to do their good dead for the day can head in and do so, those who would rather not get involved, need not.
I realise that the counter point to that is 'don't read each new thread'. True - but putting all the requests in one corner is probably less annoying to some and certainly stops the forum becoming clogged with new threads.
As for EF - there is no minimum subscription so $5 seems a small price to pay even for a one off trip where you want to see the seat map in advance.
