At SAN, the A+ line is pretty much used to as a last-minute checkin line. If you're flight is 20-30 mins away, you get to skip the long line and enter the A+ line. Downside is sometimes you don't catch your place in line. With the current fly 10/A+ promotion, I'm not expecting to benefit much in SAN.
