What I don't understand about any of these menus is...why are the accompaniments of certain dishes "served" whilst others are "offered?" Do cabin crew insist you have one whereas another is optional?

What about dishes that are "paired" with accompaniments? Are they optional, or compulsory?

And what about the dish that is "enhanced" or "accented" with something?

Or what to make of the poor cheese, which is just straight "accompanied" and neither served nor offered...does this mean the FA throws it at you?

Thank goodness there is a glass of fizzy water with ice and a slice (sorry, "Chilled Sparkling Water with a fresh Citrus Garnish") to wash down all of this menu-bull**t.
