About the PayPal top up card, Mrs Roger's tax is due next month, so I could use the opportunity of earning BA Miles via the card. (I had diverted spending from AmEx BA to other cards as the qualifying date for the 2-4-1 was inconvenient for us and because I need to use some of my BD miles. The validity extension for 2-4-1s is making me reconsider.)

I called the AmEx 'help' desk. The person 'didn't think' that a PayPal purchase for the PayPal top up card would qualify for miles and in her opinion it would be considered a cash transaction. I pointed out that an opinion is all very well but wasn't the answer I was looking for, especially as purchases and top ups to the late AmEx TCC did qualify for miles. I'm promised a callback.

Miles are usually shown in online accounts a couple of days after the transaction is posted. If mrploddy or another poster is able to identify miles having been earned for a PayPal top up transaction, it would be very useful if they could confirm. Thanks.
