We cleared 10k feet, I bust out the laptop, plug it in, and commence my 6 hours of burning through the Netflix queue.
1.5 hours later, laptop shuts off. Huh. Aha, wasn't actually getting power.
Unplug laptop, light on socket turns green, plug in laptop (still off, discharged battery), light goes out. Pull out battery, plug in laptop, light goes out. Disconnect power adapter from the laptop entirely, and just plug in the power adapter, light goes out. Tried both plugs between 4 C&J.
FA suggests that the laptop should be ON and THEN plugged in. Obviously this does not help me at this point. (Suppose I could have tried my wife's laptop.)
I did do a quick survey of the F cabin, and did not appear anyone else was using the power at all. I suppose that's not surprising, since it doesn't work!
I really hope NW got their money back for these systems. I'd be happy to install twisting power plus with green lights that turn off when anything is plugged into them much cheaper than whatever NW paid!

75 watts max.
What make/model of laptop, which power supply, and how many watts does the power supply and laptop draw? Or do your initial comments already indicate the "drat" knowlege?
