I can confirm Boots sell baby food in their airside branches at LGW. Would imagine they do at LHR too.
They should let you keep it as it's infant food...

It might be worth prinitng these and taking them with you for peace of mind.

Incidentally, we flew on SQ and 9W recently, in Y, and our infant son (who was a lap passenger) got a meal on each flight...in fact on SQ his post-weaning meal was better then our daughter's and ours ! So some airlines will provide food for infants without their own seat.
