DCA does not have lines for Elites either, and neither does SEA, and those are just a few examples. I agree, that if all airports had lines for elites/first class, Clear would not be necessary at all, but unfortunately, I would say that no more than 50% of airports have elite/first class lines at security. Regardless of that, Clear still does not present a compelling value for me.

SEA has elite security lines - I've used them often. SEA always had the little quirk that "Southwest Rapid Rewards" was considered an elite level.

(I haven't been there since they rolled out A-List. No idea if TSA has updated the sign or not.) But I also know the middle two security lines are staffed by Alaskan Airlines people guarding the elite lines: only
their elites can use them. But the outlying security checkpoints...towards the north and south ends of the terminal...will allow any elites through. (Sort of annoying if you want to grab a bite to eat in the central area of the terminal where most of the restaurants are.)
When I flew out of SEA for my return to FLL on May 8 on DL, there was definitely no elite line for security. How do I know this? I asked the TSA whether there was a first class, Medallion, preferred, or elite line, and was told there was not. Now, maybe there is an elite and first class line for other concourses, but there was not one for the DL concourse at 7:00 AM on Friday, May 8.
