I wouldn't at JFK. The cabs aren't bad and are frequently in better condition than the Dial7 cars lately, IME. At the same price point I'd just take the cab unless the line is completely unreasonable.

Getting to the Meridian is easy on the subway but getting to the Hyatt would be a bit of a pain. At midnight I'd just hop the cab and suck up the extra costs.
