I just completed a round-trip to NRT in 9A. My observations:
9K - Reserved for cockpit crew on long-hauls.
9A:
- Typical extra privacy and storage for these aft-most J seats due to the crew cabinet
- After the SE's, food service and order-taking seemed to start at 9A
- Potential for galley noise depending on how thoughtful your crew is (do they keep the curtain closed, do they keep their voices low etc.)
- Single-seat config means fewer passers by, and more overhead bin storage (noticed folks searching for available o/h bin space on the K side).
- No windows at row 9 (which was a bummer for me!)
- A330s do not have the new lighting and crews may leave the aft and forward-most set of lights on for the entire trip. (wear your eye mask)
13A: I didn't sit here, but from this roundtrip experience I know that they consolidate all passengers in the main J cabin when loads are light. The crew then uses the mini-cabin for their rest area. Also, same noise potential with infants in Y row 18 behind.
