What about combining it with various MO's promos? For example, they currently have a "book 4 nights in a suite, get 4-th night free" promotion running at the San Francisco property (and others too, as far as I can see).

I recall reading somewhere on this forum that it was possible to combine the promos like the one above with the free night. Has anyone tried it and, if so, how does it work, is that something you'd mention during booking with Centurion?
My experience is mixed in being upgarded in this manner, but I've definitely been upped from L450 to 600 which was a great upgrade given paying 2 nights for the price of 1. Unfortunately it means I must always stay in a 600 room now to keep Mrs99 on side.

Re San Francisco though, my experience with MO was not positive - it has not been refurbished for some time and is getting tatty, compared to the generally good/great state of the other properties I've stayed in. The common areas (restaurant) I found to be old and grubby. Having said that the views are spectacular. Given that the MO rate is rack rate, you may want to look at St Regis or one of the other excellent hotels in SF where you may not end up paying much more if you are staying a number of days
