When I settled in, I went to the closest Costco (I always carry my card in my wallet because otherwise I always forget it when I'm at home). Two minutes on the computer and the person behind the counter gave me back a gift card with the original purchase price plus the tax I paid for it back in Chicago.
Sadly, Costco was in the process of rolling out their new 22" and only had bad colors left of the old 22" in both that store and another one closer to my client site. But I had a 26" with me as well as I was there for eight days, so it wasn't the end of the world. I bought the new 22" back in Chicago a couple of weeks later.
If you don't have your card on you, you can present id to the Membership desk, and usually can find your membership in the system ^
