What I want to know is how, in this age where my rental car company can pinpoint my rental car down to its exact parking slot with GPS, how do they not know the exact location of every plane in the sky? It would seem a plane full of people would have some sort of device that would be able to tell the exact location at any moment, and communicate that, along with the data showing it has problems, to the ground. I don't get it.
