I received an automated upgrade (I was treated as an MVP Gold) on both my outbound and return on AS this weekend (I was on T/K fare ticket)... and I could not do an OLCI either way; had to have a TA help me. I opted to use the Skycap both ways and that worked out fine, albeit I was $2 lighter in my wallet after checking my one bag.
