I would suspect more likely D candidates will be ones who fly the same gauge planes AS does, so maybe WN/VX or other airlines flying the smaller birds...
Well before AS moved in to D, there were a lot less gates that could handle larger planes. We added some of the gates in there after taking over. So I would suspect UA could take many of those gates if a few were removed.

What rybob1 said is pretty much dead on. I have seen the plan so I'm not just commenting off of rumors I've heard. We will be all N and C when shuffling can take place. We have already given back all of the D gates but 2 or 3 to the port (I believe we still have D3, D6, and D7) as common use gates even though we pretty much use them still exclusively. We pretty much only use D8-9-10-11 for RON flights. If you see a plane over there in the day, it's overflow or irregular ops.

Right now we have N1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 and 9. N is so much better for taxiing, gate space, and the bagwell space. Currently, the D gates are a massive headache and contribute to a lot of pushback delays and ground damage. There is not enough space to even park all of the ground support equipment. N by comparison is like sitting in first class compared to coach. Tons of gate space. A really big bagwell (that doesn't require you to back heavy bag carts up a hill to get them into position....try doing that when it's raining or icy).

And as I have mentioned on here before, N gates are all nice and close to each other so the new Future Gate Experience will work ten times better there than it would on D.

Also when UA moves out, we could add 2 gates to the west end where Skywest parks. That area is also the only area on property now that can be built onto. So if in the future there was any expansion beyond what gates are available, N could become a whole lot longer if need be.

As for the original topic, there are no plans to move the BR. What is currently at N would need to be significantly renovated and the cost can't be justified at all in this climate.
