Embassy Suites at South Shore are quite nice, and a good location as others have indicated, but a bit pricey. Say hello to Concierge Tom Conte for us. Very helpful person who really likes to help folks. We know him from the Ridge Tahoe.
Harrah's and Harvey's are right next door and acoss the street, where you can often get mid-week specials. Don't miss the Forest Buffet on the top floor of Harrah's. Good food, good variety, and many tables have a lake view.
Weather allowing, a dinner cruise on Lake Tahoe to Emerald Bay is great. Cost, I believe is in the $40 - 50 range pp.
