This does not really relate to the topics at hand here - and nobody can actually provide a reasonable answer as to the risks, on this or any other route.
As others have said, the risks are much higher driving to and from the airport. And, the 757 is the sturdy "hot rod" in AA's fleet as well.
Massive storms can happen, most aircraft survive encounters with them if they can't avoid them. We don't have any way of knowing - and probably never will know - why the AF A330 went down. We can only speculate about this mysterious tragedy, and it isn't related to AA.
