Oh, good, another DL bashing thread, we haven't had one of those in a long time... maybe 2 whole days?
Sorry, but I've always been treated politely, competently and promptly by DL front line personnel and telephone staff. I've redeemed miles for 3 or 4 low mileage trips this year, on the exact schedules and routing I wanted. Sure, DL has definite flaws- it's a huge, very complex corporation with thousands of different individuals of various calibre working for it. But the worst since Enron? The worst of the major airlines? That kind of hyperbole just serves to undermine credibility.
I'm paying the same prices now for TATL that I paid 30 years ago, so something has to give... gas cost 35 cents a gallon and minimum wage was around $2.50/hour back then.

Before this year I'd only had a handful of NW segments in the past 4 or 5 years, but on those segments I found the FA's to be sour, unhappy, and cold, the planes shabby, and the service from the GA's just ordinary. I did have one extremely good experience with their telefone service, when I had to book some emergency same-day flights. So, YMMV.
