why tell the tsa you have gel shoe inserts? simply go thru the shoe carnival and see what happens. 5 hockey pucks says nothing will happen but if are concerned....

you can always put an old pair of inserts inside the shoes that "have to now go on the belt" and leave the good pair of inserts either inside a 2nd pair of shoes in your carry on or simply in the carry on by themselves if you are not caryying a second pair of shoes
