It's been a couple of years since I was in KL, but I stayed at the Ritz Carlton there (which is a really fantastic property) for $75/night. I think it's actually cheaper now. I highly recommend just paying to get a good 5 star hotel in the city if that's where you're going to be doing things. Traffic getting into the city was a killer.
