(Assuming you did not check any bags)
1. You reach the station for the rental car train by 10:35 AM
2. You reach the rental car center by 10:50 AM
3. (I'm assuming you have Hertz #! Gold or something like that) You're in your car and en route by 11:05 AM
4. The best way to go is via the East Bay and freeway up to Vallejo. Please note you will encounter traffic no matter on Hwy 101 up to the Bay Bridge. Once you're off the Bay Bridge, you will encounter the brutal constant back up on Hwy 80 through Berkeley where it is always bumper to bumper.
5. The best you can hope for is 2 hours behind the wheel.
6. Which puts you at The French Laundry by 1:05 PM at the absolute earliest.
(If they can hold your reservation till then, no problem)
Also, for whatever it's worth, my brother has eaten at The French Laundry and was not so impressed...
I agree with the above, including the not impressed part. My recent dinner there was an absolute disaster. Either we had a particularly bad night or this restaurant has just gone downhill now that TK is no longer cooking.
Edited to add: to directly respond to the OP, if you are determined to eat there I would try to reschedule. You won't make 11:30 or even 11:45 (unless your flight is very early) and I think anything beyond 15 minutes will not be seen as "reasonable," particularly with a place like FL. If you can't reschedule, there are many other ultra-high end dining experiences to be had in the Bay Area, including Cyrus up in Healdsburg.
