Yes, of course I realize it is not consecutive! However, I do not have unlimited vacation which means I would need to fly in the day of Das Rheingold and fly out the day following Gotterdammerung. That is too much.
As in every other house, seats in the SF Opera house are a trade-off between watching the opera and listening to the opera. My favorite seats are in the first 2 rows of the Grand Tier. Acoustics are very good and the view is the best in the house. Next would be the first 2 rows in the Dress Circle. Next would be the orchestra.
It's not the Met, but I think the SF Opera House is fantastic since the renovation. The acoustics have improved considerably, and I find it to be a very nice venue all around.
